Clarity – All diamonds are natural, each and everyone is unique. Formed hundreds of millions of years ago in the Earth’s crust some mineral elements or tiny fractures in the crystal can become trapped inside for eternity – a diamond’s birthmark, technically known as an inclusion. These are graded from the very rare flawless diamonds (fl) with no inclusions to diamonds with inclusions visible to the naked eye looking like black dots, feathers, or clouds.
Carat – Simply the size of the diamond by weight, 1 carat = 200 milligrams. One carat can also be divided into 100 "points", a 0.75 carat diamond is the same as a 75 points or a ¾ carat diamond.
